Welcome to the 14th Annual Keith Hall Summer Drum Intensive!

KHSDI began in 2007 with 6 of my private students attending a daytime camp in one room, with catered lunches by my wife, Tamera!  By 2011, KHSDI had expanded to 2 full-service camps, so we could serve more students and focus our curriculum to the various skill levels.  A few years ago we grew again and had 48 students between the 2 weeks, ages 12-67.  For some of our students, this was their 6th year at KHSDI.

Our camp is based on our 4 Foundational Pillars:  Confidence, Health, Leadership and Musicianship.  These have been received with great enthusiasm and we will continue to reinforce these as we make an impact with our students even beyond the music.

Attached you will find many details about this year’s camp, including an overview of our daily schedule, driving directions, and a “What to Bring” check list.  On the first day of camp, you will receive a folder containing individual class and rehearsal assignments as well as the supplies and class materials you will need to keep with you each day.

During our week together you will be learning new music through rehearsals and performances with different professional rhythm sections, a wonderful vocalist, a horn player, and a drum choir.  You will also attend master classes covering a variety of subjects taught by our award-winning staff, and surprise internationally acclaimed guest artists.

We have had an extremely talented staff consisting of my past and present WMU drum students from all over the country, including New York City, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Elkhart, Miami, and Kalamazoo.

In addition, our professional rhythm sections have included all-stars from New York City, Houston, Chicago, Connecticut, Iowa and Kalamazoo.
