Hot off the press! The new Tri-Fi trio CD is NOW available on the web. It's called "Postcards" and
features a guest appearance on 3 tunes by a friend/mentor and one of
the great alto and soprano saxophonists in the world...Steve
Wilson!!
My man! We'll be doing a CD
release party in NYC on June 20th (my b-day!) at Sweet Rhythm... Check out our brand new website...www.Tri-Fi.com

I appear on Curtis Stigers latest Concord Records release "Real Emotional". It includes his trio Matthew Fries-piano/wurli, Phil Palombi-bass, as
well as, John Pizzerelli-guitar, John 'Scrapper' Sneider-trumpet and
Larry Goldings-organ, piano, wurli, vibes, accordian and producing.
It
was a really fun session and we will continue to tour in Europe to support this fall to support it.
- I also just celebrated the release of "Invisible Horizon" with my other NYC trio Paster, Ryan & Hall. We
had 2 CD release celebrations in New York City and one in Kalamazoo,
MI. This CD also features Chris Cheek on saxophones!
Whew!! Cheek is my new favorite tenor player!
Some other projects and groups I'm involved in:
- This last summer I held the 1st Annual Keith Hall Summer Drum
Intensive here in Kalamazoo, MI on the campus of Western Michigan
University. It was extremely exciting to work with high school
drummers from around the region. This culminated into a final
concert at the Union Cabaret downtown! I will be doing it next year and it will be bigger and better, stay tuned!
- I've been hittin' with a great young singer from Detroit named
Jesse Palter and her fabulous trio featuring the piano playing and
arrangements of Mike Jellick. We just did a couple of showcases in
NYC-one of which was at the Bluenote..watch out for her.
-
I continue to work with Steve Talaga and Mind's Eye around Michigan, as
well as singers Jenna Mammina, Lana Hawkins, trumpeter Benje Daneman and others.
- I have been working on a new jazz ministry group ‘Keith Hall & Another Dimension’.
We play at churches, coffee shops and other concert venues with a focus
of bringing straight-ahead jazz and the Word of God together for
ministry. More to come on this...
-
I have been developing JazzImpact! an interactive educational performance/presentation for youth as well as my career planning/music business programs for high school and college students.
-
I've been playing drums for praise and worship at my church Christian Life Center on
Wednesdays and Sundays when I'm in town. The music is a very
important part of our worship there and it's very happening!
-
I've also been doing some drum clinics, lots of private lessons and
continue to work in the schools with student rhythm sections and jazz
bands.
-
Lot's of drummers have been asking me about what kind of
warm-ups I do when I'm on the road...well here they are!
